Pastily keyboard shortcuts
Global shortcuts
These work from any app, even when Pastily is in the background.
| Action | Mac | Windows and Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Open Pastily | Cmd+Shift+B | Ctrl+Shift+B |
| Paste the next queued item | Cmd+Shift+V | Ctrl+Shift+V |
The second shortcut works when Universal Paste is switched on.
Inside the Pastily popup
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Move to the next or previous clip | ↓ / ↑ |
| Copy the selected clip and close | Enter |
| Search your history | Start typing |
| Close the popup | Esc |
| Open Settings | Cmd+, on Mac, Ctrl+, on Windows and Linux |
Change a shortcut
- Open Settings → Shortcuts.
- Under Global shortcuts, choose the shortcut you want to change.
- Press the new key combination. Pastily confirms with "Shortcut updated."
Use Default to go back to the original shortcut. The two global shortcuts must be different from each other.
How this compares with built-in shortcuts
- Windows: Win+V opens the built-in clipboard history (25 items). Pastily uses a different shortcut, so both keep working.
- macOS Tahoe: Cmd+Space, then Cmd+4 opens the Spotlight clipboard history (up to 7 days).
Common questions
What is the shortcut to open clipboard history?
In Pastily it is Cmd+Shift+B on Mac and Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux. The built-in Windows clipboard history uses Windows key + V, and macOS Tahoe uses Cmd+Space followed by Cmd+4.
Can I change the Pastily shortcut?
Yes. Open Settings → Shortcuts, select the shortcut and press the new key combination. You can reset it to the default at any time.

How to copy and paste multiple items in order
Turn on Universal Paste in Pastily, copy each item you need, then press Cmd+Shift+V on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows and Linux. Each press pastes the next item in the order you copied it, so you can fill a form or a spreadsheet without switching windows again and again.
Getting started with Pastily
Install Pastily, activate your licence key in Settings, then press Cmd+Shift+B on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux to open your clipboard history. Everything you copy from then on is saved on your own computer and can be searched and copied again.
Organise clipboard history with Spaces, pins and saved clips
Pastily sorts everything you copy into Spaces such as Text, Links, Code, Images and Colors automatically. Pin a clip to keep it at the top of your history, save it to find it under Saved, and create your own Spaces for things like code templates or support replies.
