How to use Pastily
Install Pastily on Mac, Windows or Linux, then learn each feature step by step: clipboard history, the paste queue, Spaces, shortcuts and privacy timers.
Get started
Getting started with Pastily
Install Pastily, activate your licence key in Settings, then press Cmd+Shift+B on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux to open your clipboard history. Everything you copy from then on is saved on your own computer and can be searched and copied again.
How to install Pastily on Mac
Download the Pastily .dmg from pastily.app, open it and drag Pastily into your Applications folder. One universal build works on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, and it is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it without security warnings.
How to install Pastily on Windows 10 and 11
Download the Pastily zip for Windows from pastily.app, unzip it and run the installer. Pastily works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and opens with Ctrl+Shift+B, so it does not replace or conflict with the built-in Win+V clipboard history.
How to install Pastily on Linux
Pastily for Linux comes as an AppImage that runs on most distributions, a .deb package for Debian and Ubuntu, and an .rpm package for Fedora, RHEL and openSUSE. Download the one for your system from pastily.app, install it and open your history with Ctrl+Shift+B.
Features
How to copy and paste multiple items in order
Turn on Universal Paste in Pastily, copy each item you need, then press Cmd+Shift+V on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+V on Windows and Linux. Each press pastes the next item in the order you copied it, so you can fill a form or a spreadsheet without switching windows again and again.
Notch Island: your clipboard in the MacBook notch
Notch Island is a small panel joined to the MacBook notch. It shows a preview of each thing you copy, your paste queue and any auto-delete countdown, and opens your recent clips when you move the pointer to the notch. It needs Pastily 2.2.0 or later and a Mac with a notch, and it is on by default.
Organise clipboard history with Spaces, pins and saved clips
Pastily sorts everything you copy into Spaces such as Text, Links, Code, Images and Colors automatically. Pin a clip to keep it at the top of your history, save it to find it under Saved, and create your own Spaces for things like code templates or support replies.
Pastily keyboard shortcuts
Press Cmd+Shift+B on Mac or Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows and Linux to open Pastily from any app. Press Cmd+Shift+V or Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the next item in the Universal Paste Queue. Both shortcuts can be changed in Settings → Shortcuts.
Clipboard history for images and colour codes
Pastily keeps copied images in your clipboard history with a preview, and saves any of them to your Downloads folder with one click. When you copy a colour code it shows a swatch of the colour and lets you copy it again as HEX or RGB.
Account & privacy
Privacy, offline storage and auto-expiring clips
Pastily stores your clipboard history in a local database on your own computer. There is no account and no cloud sync, so your clips are never uploaded. For sensitive clips such as passwords, set an auto-expire timer of up to 24 hours and the clip deletes itself.
Activate, move or refund your Pastily licence
Open Settings → General → License in Pastily, paste your licence key and activate it. To move Pastily to a new computer, deactivate it on the old one first, then activate the same key on the new one. Refunds are available for 7 days, no questions asked.
